If you’ve been struggling to lose weight but can’t figure out where you went wrong, listen up.
The video above from Wochit explains that there are a number of things that might be preventing you from dropping a few pounds – from not eating enough (yes, really) to doing the same old workout.
Here’s what you need to know:
1. Eating too little
Your body conserves its resources if it doesn’t get enough fuel, meaning your metabolism slows down and you don’t lose weight.
2. Eating the wrong calories
Your body doesn’t process all calories the same, which means calorie deficits don’t matter if you eat junk all the time.
3. Not varying your workout
When your body adapts to your routine, it stops being challenged and exercise becomes less effective.
4. Thinking that exercise means you can eat more
Be wary of overestimating how many calories you’re burning, as exercising doesn’t make calories disappear.
5. Not working with your body type
Some people can get leaner than others. If you do everything right and can’t lose weight, accept your body type and focus on your overall health.
